Business Experience
1963-1966: Warehouse Employee for Bergen Brunswig Drug Company. Line filler, packer, trash man, and maintenance.
1966-1970: Brand Manager of Bergen Brunswig Drug Company for Health Rite Vitamins. This was the first company to pioneer a full line of natural vitamins into U.S. food and drug chains.
1970-1972: Director of Marketing and Sales for Banner Gelatin Products. The company was the second largest manufacture of soft gelatin capsules used predominately for the production of Vitamin E and Fish Oil capsules in the U.S.
1973-1997: Founder and President of Leiner Health Products. During his time he led the company to becoming the largest vitamin manufacturer in the U.S.; distributing to over 60,000 retail outlets with corporate revenues exceeding $750 million annually.
1998-2001: Partnered with Dr. Art Ulene and founded the Feeling Fine Company. The Feeling Fine Company launched standardized herbal extracts and science-based vitamins formulated for, and endorsed by, “America’s Family Doctors” (NBC’s Today Show).
2002-2012: Founded and created HealthWell Ventures, LLC. A nutritional science-based Product Development Company working in concert with Herbalife Corporation and utilizing Dr. Lou Ignarro, as their “Voice of Authority” for their cardio formulas. Dr. Ignarro was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1998 for his discovery of the Nitric Oxide (N.O.) gas molecule and the role it plays in cardiovascular health. The flagship result of this Herbalife partnership was the creation of “Niteworks,” an N.O. based powder acting as a natural vasodilator that helps to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. Launched in 2002 and distributed by Herbalife to over 40 countries worldwide, “Niteworks” currently contributes over $250 million a year to Herbalife’s revenues.
2012-current: Partnered with Dr. Luis Pacheco, M.D, the “Voice of Health and Wellness” for the Hispanic community via Telemundo and Univision TV. Together they created Nature’s Science, LLC. As Founder and CEO Brubaker and Dr. Pacheco’s mission continues to be delivering nutritional based products to the over 55 million Latino health conscience consumers in the U.S.
2015-current: Partnered with Dr. Ferid Murad, M.D., PhD, 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine and Jay Brubaker in Forming Nutra-Creations, a LLC focused on bringing Dr. Ferid Murad’s Nobel Prize winning science to the mass market channels including Food Drug Mass and Health Food. Dr. Murad won the Nobel Prize in 1998 for his discovery of Nitric Oxide (N.O.)
Philanthropic Involvement
Coby Cares Foundation, Chairman: Founded in 1985 in the memory of his late wife, Coby Brubaker. CCF focuses on supporting health, wellness and education for under-privileged children on a global scale.
Operation USA, Board Member: A 37 year old philanthropic organization providing humanitarian relief all over the world. Operation USA helps communities alleviate the effects of disasters, disease and endemic poverty by providing privately-funded relief, reconstruction and development aid throughout the world. www.opusa.org
Vitamin Angels Board of Advisor’s: Non-profit organization, manufacturing and distributes life changing vitamins and minerals helping at-risk populations in need (specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five) gain access to lifesaving and life changing vitamins and minerals. Vitamin Angels addresses chronic malnutrition and the resulting morbidity and mortality caused by vitamin deficiencies. Dave Brubaker today resides in Palm Desert, CA. Living close to his son Jay, a 2008 graduate from USC. Dave enjoys spending his leisure time offering guidance and providing mentoring to entrepreneurial students, golfing with friends and his son, fly-fishing, travelling and writing poetry.
